Step Eight

Part One: Outline
Part Two: Slides
Part Three: Options
Part Four:  Options Tabs Edit and Save
Part Five: Options Tabs View and Spelling and Style
Part Six: Options Tab Security

Outline

There are two views you can chouse from on the left side of view screen outline being the one with just text. This is useful when you quickly want to see all the text in your slide show it will show you headings and sub headings in the title screen and in the general screen it will show you the main text box. You can also edit the text here.

Slides

The slides shows you a currant full color view of all your slides you can't edit text or anything in this but it makes life very easy when trying to find slides quickly.

Options

Options in PowerPoint allow you to control many things including adding a password or chorusing how often you auto save. To access this particular options area go Tools - Options.... This will open you up to the general tab here you can control things like the user information and whether sound is not a separate file. I'm not going to go over all the tabs in the options area just some of the main ones.

Options Tabs Edit and Save

The edit tab is used for controlling cut and past features as well as controlling the maximum number of undoes (I recommend you put this up) these are very useful settings. You can also disable a few things I recommend that you do not do these things. The save tab allows you to change how often it auto save (I recommend that you put this down) it also lets you chouse a default saving location this starts off at your My Documents.

Options Tabs View and Spelling and Style

The view tab allows you to change what bars and similar things are shown. The spelling and style tab is for chousing wether things like it checking spelling as you write.

There is a separate style box that opens up when you click "Style Options..." in this you can control things like the minimum font size for the headings and text.

Options Tab Security

Inside the security tab you can add passwords as well changing privacy settings. There are two password fields one is to password it up so that you are the only one that can view it. There is an advanced tab next to it where you can turn up the encoding level to make the file more safe (I recommend that you use last setting : Microsoft Strong Cryptographic Provider) . Under this this there is another password filed, this is used when you want other people able to view your PowerPoint in read-me format and you with you being able to edit it.
