How To Make Comprehensive Professional Power Points with Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003

Step Eight: Rehearse Timings / Record Narration

Step Seven

Part One: Rehearse Timings
Part Two: Recording Narration
Part Three: Views

Rehearse Timings

Rehearse timings are used when you want everything come up automatically this is very useful. How it works it that you go through your presentation once and PowerPoint recodes the timings. After which these timings will show when you play your presentation. To record them go Slide Show - Rehearsal Timings this will open your slide show like normal but with the rehearsal box.

I am going to go over the  rehearsal box first the arrow is for going to the next action this can also be done with the left click of a muse or  the right arrow on the keyboard next is the pause button then there's a times for your current slide then one for the whole presentation. After you have finished the presentation a box will come asking whether you wish to save the timings so don't worry if you make a mistake. After you have saved them you can not delete them but you can record over them or turn the off in the set up show window.

Recording Narration

Recording narration is very similar to rehearse timings the difference is that when recording narration you can also record a voice in the background reading the text or something similar. To enter it you go Slide Show - Recording Narration (You need to click down the arrow at the bottom). Now the record narration screen has come up here you can

change the quality of the audio putting the quality higher will increase the file size as if you turn the quality down it will lower the file size. The file saves into the PowerPoint. Unlike normal video and audio. After you click ok in this box you will be taken into your slide show everything

(other then you are recording audio) will be the same as rehearse timings including the rehearsal box.
