How To Make Comprehensive Professional Power Points with Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003

Step Four: Master Slides / Footer and Headers

Step Three

Part One: About Master Slide
Part Two: Entering Master Slide Screen
Part Three: Master Slides
Part Four: Headers and Footers

Part 1: About Master Slide

The master slides are part of your template that allows you to
control information about your template including font,
placeholder sizes and positions, backgrounds and color
schemes.

Part 2: Entering Master Slide Screen

To enter the master slide screen go View-Master-Slide Master
this will open up the master slide page.

Part 3: Master Slides

After you enter master slide it is quite simple to set up your
master slide. Just change the font of the text that is already
there and if you exit master slide it will all appear that font,
color or what other things you changed. You can also change
your background in master slide.

Part 4: Headers and Footers

Headers and footers in PowerPoint allow you to  put text,
dates and slide numbers in all you slides. (they are controlled
in master slides at the bottom of the screen) To access the
master slide control box go "View - Header and Footer..."
As you can see below you can do many things including add date and set it up so it updates
automatically. You can add a slide number or even add a  bit of text (i.e. SWIMMING). Headers and footers can be very useful in Professional power points.
