How To Make Comprehensive Professional Power Points with Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003

Step Three: Adding  Custom Animation / Slide Transitions

Step Two

Part one: Custom Animation
Part Two: Entrance
Part three: Emphasis
Part Four: Exit
Part Five: Custom Animation More
Part Six: Slide Transitions
Part Seven: Slide Transitions More

Part One: Custom Animation

Custom animation is a way to bring on and take off text, pictures and more. To access the custom animation control panel enter a text box (or a what you wish to add your effect to) and right click "Custom Animation..." this will open something on the left of the screen this is the custom animation control panel. If you wish to add custom animation to the whole of a text box just select it and go into add effect on the top of the custom animation control centre. This will allow you to chouse Entrance, Emphasis, Exit, Monition Paths. You can also add it to a sentence just select it and add the effect again

Part Two: Entrance

An entrance effect is used as it name suggests to make something enter. After opening entrance you should go into "More Effects...". This will the add entrance effect box. Here you can see all the effects you can use. For the professionally you should mainly just us fade effects.

Part Three: Emphasis

Emphasis is a way to change font/text things while in the PowerPoint these in most cases are not necessary unless you want to make something bold or stand out during the presentation.

Part Four: Exit

Exit effects are not usually very useful because instead of making something exit you can just exit to the next slide. You can also just copy what you need to keep to the next slide. But if you do chouse to use them is is the same as entrance effects just use fades.

Monition Paths
Monition paths allow you to move text/pictures around the screen and off. They can be quite useful in making credits.

Part Five: Custom Animation More

In custom animation you can also change and effect as well as modifying changing whether it stars on click after the last click or whether is starts at the same time as the list click. You also have the choice of changing the speed from very slow to very fast.

Part Six: Slide Transitions

Slide transitions are a way to put effects between slides. To access the slide transitionscontrol box right click "Slide Transitions..." this will open a box on the left. Here you can scroll down a see similar effects to the custom animation ones. We recommend that for all your slides you use a fade smoothly effect. (To change all of your slides there is an apply to all slides button.)

Part Seven: Slide Transitions More

In the control box you can also change the speed of the effect. From Very Slow To Very Fast. Under this you can add sound these are not recommended. Here you can also set it up so that after a set amount of time you will go to the next slide. You can also do this with rehearse times that I will talk about later.
